This past week, we were able to get out of the house a little more. The hot weather kinda stinks for the boys, but we are trying to not be so secluded lately! On Friday afternoon, we made our first trip to the mall. The boys did great and slept the whole time. Then on Saturday, we had 2 outings! We went to a friend's house to watch the USA team lose, and then we had dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Schmidt at Indian Valley. The boys did great at the first outing of the day, but were pretty fussy at dinner. I guess 2 activities in 1 day was too much :) I didn't take any pictures at any of the these outings, unfortunently, but I'm going to have to be better!
Overall, the boys are still doing great! They did get circumcised last Wednesday, which has increased the fussyness and the time it takes to change a diaper.. vaseline, yuck! They are still as sweet as ever, and I'm enjoying each day I get to spend with them. We are still working on the whole sleeping thing, and I'm hoping for some longer stretches soon! They have nights where they go 6+ hours, but also nights when they like to be fed every 3-4 hours. I can only imagine how long each one would sleep if I didn't have to constantly wake the other up :) Just another joy of having twins!
Landon continues to be very alert and seems to be developing very fast. He continues to roll over when I put him on his belly, and I can see him growing so much. He has not been able to keep his food down lately, so now I'm trying to figure out how to help him in this area. It's clear that Landon will have a strong personality, and I'm excited to continue to get to know the little guy!
Jordan is just the sweetest baby ever. He spends a lot of time awake just looking around and rarely crying. He is very content and happy most of the time. He has not rolled over, and doesn't seem to focus as much as Landon yet, but I can tell he's not upset about it at all. His personality seems very easy going and content. You can see from the picture below that Jordan enjoys time with daddy too!

First Father's Day :)
We spent Father's day with the Schmidt's at Adam and Lyndsay's house. They made a wonderful meal, and we spent the day relaxing and watching the US Open. Grandpa Schmidt is really getting good at holding both boys, and you can see how he lights up when he's with them. We are so thankful and blessed to have him so close, and I'm sure he'll teach them all kinds of things as they grow up! We love you Grandpa Schmidt!!

This was Eric's first Father's day, and I think he really enjoyed being the center of attention. Although the boys couldn't say in words how much they love and adore him, it's clear by the way they look at him that they love him so much! Eric is already an amazing daddy, and it's awesome to watch the connection he has with each of the boys. My favorite story was when I was in the hospital still, Eric looked at me with a very serious face and asked "do you think it's OK if I kiss them on the lips??" Of course I said yes, and ever since then, everytime he picks them up, he gives them the best daddy kisses ever! I can't wait to see him grow more as a dad, and watch the boys as they make him their hero. As you can see from the pictures below, we didn't want to leave out Aspen. He will always be a part of our family!

Papa Purcell wasn't here on Father's day, but we sure can't forget him on a Father's day post. He came to visit for 3 weeks when the boys were born, and really got to bond with them in their first days. He is a wonderful dad to me, and more than I ever could've wished for. He never missed one of my sporting events, and has supported me in everything I've done. We sure do wish he lived closer, but know that he will be visiting whenever he gets a chance! We love you Papa!!
This weekend was also Grandma Schmidt's birthday. We celebrated with her at a restaurant, and the boys slept the whole time...which meant no one got to hold them :( So, we took this picture of Grandma admiring her grandsons, and it was too cute not to post! Grandma has been the #1 babysitter already, and can even handle both boys at the same time! We are so lucky to have her in our lives.
Uncle Adam and Aunt Lyndsay never miss a chance to hold the boys. They are wonderful with them, and we're so happy to have them in the neighborhood! Aunt Lyndsay is off for the summer from school, and I'm sure we'll be spending lots of quality time with her! Sometimes Adam mixes up the boys, so I won't label who was holding who, so that he can guess :)
While Adam was holding one of the boys (who shall remain nameless to protect the innocent), we had a minor blowout (for those of you who don't know, this means that #2 crept out the side of the diaper). Uncle Adam has not changed his first diaper yet, and I don't think he's ever cleaned a bathroom either, so his reaction was pretty priceless. He was disgusted, and holding the poor child as far away from himself as possible, and we might've grabbed the camera to take pictures in his distress. The saga ended with him yelling "Mom, do something!", and so we put down the cameras and cleaned up the poor child!
Uncle Adam spending QT with Landon.. not sure what Landon thinks of him yet :)
Before we left, there was one part of the high celing that needed painting. The only place to put the ladder was on the steps, so you can see, my wonderful husband offered to hold the ladder while Adam risked his life going to the top. Thanks to Dad Schmidt, we had a paint can and 2x4 to help balance the ladder! Lyndsay and Grandma couldn't watch, so I took some pictures!!
During one of the many times we have dropped the boys off at Grandma and Grandpa Schmidt's, we managed to get a picture with me in it. The boys were sleepy, but still it's nice to have some pictures of the family :)
Eric is holding Jordan, and I have Mr. Landon
A couple weeks back I was getting very frustrated with the whole "swaddling" thing. I think I'm just not patient enough to do it right, so we invested in some miracle blankets. They are a little pricey, but the work wonders! The boys have been sleeping so much better both during the day and at night since these blankets are so good, there is no getting out! Grandpa Schmidt is still a little upset when I put them in the "straight jacket", but I gotta do what works for now! I think they could sleep all day!
Precious boys
This was Landon after we put him in the carseat on the way to dinner. We thought his hands were so funny... like he was saying "wait guys, where are we going??" I love this little man!

One Month Old!
We were excited on Sunday because the boys turned 1 month old! I can't believe they are already so big and changing so much day to day. They are awake more during the day now, and sleeping even better at night. Last night they slept 6 hours straight, then another 4! It was amazing, and I'm hoping it wasn't a fluke!
They went to see the doctor yesterday, and we found out how big they are and healthy! Landon weighed in at 7 lbs 10 oz, and Jordan was 7 lbs 4 oz! The doctor has already mixed them up too because I was looking in the books they gave us which keep the records, and they mixed up all the measurements. I'll have to watch more closely next time we go! We got all our questions answered, and the doctor was very happy with the progress and growth. We were told to keep doing what we are doing, which feels awesome!
On Sunday, Grandma and Grandpa Schmidt came over in the morning so Eric and I could go to church. The boys still shouldn't be out in crowds for another couple weeks, so it was great for us to get out and see some friends! After we got home, we took some pictures of the boys, and even got a couple with us! We were obviously looking at the sun, so it's not the best pic, but it's a family pic (notice Aspen in the window behind us!)

Roll Over! Roll Over!
Mr. Landon hit a big milestone today!! At one month and one day, he decided it would be a great day to show off his rolling skills. I put him down for some tummy time this morning, and then I went to change Jordan's diaper. While my back was turned, the little guy decided to roll over onto his back! I thought maybe it was a fluke until Eric got up and we decided to let him try it again! He rolled over right away, then I grabbed the camera to catch it again! Below is the sequence!!
Rolling ... rolling
Success!!!
In other news, the boys had a urology appointment today to see if they were ready for circumcision. It turns out they are ready, and scheduled for next Wednesday down at CHOP in Philly... ouch! They have their one month dr. check-up tomorrow and we will find out all the fun stats! I'll be sure to update and also share some pictures we took of them yesterday on the chairs :)

Goodbye Preemie Clothes!
We really do love to snuggle!
The boys are growing each day, and I can't believe how much they are changing already! Below is an outfit that was too big for them in the hospital, and now it's getting too small! I can't believe it's been over 4 weeks and on Sunday they will be 1 month old already! We are very excited to go to the doctors and see how much the weigh! We love them more than words can express!!
We look forward everyday to Eric getting up and hanging out with us! He loves to hang out on the lovesac and hold both of the boys (not to mention Aspen :) It's great to see how much he loves them and how great he is with them. He changes lots of diapers and burps them and gives them baths. What a wonderful Daddy!
We took some pictures of the boys one day this week when Grandma Schmidt came over. She got them these shirts and gave them to us right after the boys were born. So adorable! Thanks Grandma!

First visit to Grandma and Grandpa Schmidt's
Grandma Schmidt has been very excited to have the boys come over and play at her house! Yesterday was a great opportunity, and since there is a lot of shopping in the area, I took the opportunity to run some errands and do some shopping while the boys hung out with Grandma and Grandpa Schmidt. It was nice to get out of the house and have the boys in a new surrounding, and they did great.
With the exception of my car not starting, it was a smooth trip! Grandpa Schmidt jumped the car and Eric will get it fixed today (just the battery). The boys really enjoyed the visit, and I'm sure there will be lots more to come!
