Best. Birthday. Ever.

Well, I turned 30 this past weekend. Wow, that was harder to type than I thought! Birthdays aren't typically a big deal around here, but this year that all changed. Eric thinks I make a big deal about my birthday, but honestly I just like to look forward to something. So, I do start talking about it coming pretty early, but that is just to make sure he doesn't forget about it! Well, this year he spoiled me more than ever!

Eric got home from work around 7:30 AM and I was pretty sure he would bring me breakfast. When he came upstairs empty handed, at first I thought maybe he forget it was my birthday :) Well, then he burst out into song while I was still half asleep, and I knew he remembered! He was anxious for me to go downstairs, but Landon had woken up, so I took my time going to get him and give him his morning kisses. Once I did finally go downstairs, I found the most beautiful thing in my kitchen! It was the double jogging stroller that I really wanted (and had hinted at, but was sure he couldn't get it for me). I was so excited - what a perfect suprise!!

I think the boys like it!

Isn't it pretty?!

Eric decided to try it out...

Little did I know where Eric was going... He had invited my whole family to come in from out of town (they all live in OH/KY) and was going to their hideout at Adam and Lyndsay's house! They had gotten there early afternoon, and were waiting for me to get done working to surprise me! I was shocked to see my parent's show up at the door, and then thinking it couldn't get better, opened the door and my 2 favorite brothers were there! I honestly didn't think there would be anymore surprises! This is the first birthday I have spent with my family since we all lived at home (I don't want to tell you how many years ago that might have been!)

They are a little silly!

Minutes after the surprise - I am in shock and in my full work attire (I work from home, gimme a break!)

Little did I know that my family wasn't the only suprise! We stood around and talked about what to do next, and somehow it was decided we would head down to the city to one of my favorite spots - Chickies and Petes! I didn't even have to think about it, they were all ready to fight the Friday city traffic, and Eric told me he was lucky enough to get a reservation since we had 10 or more. Little did I know... as I was getting frustrated with him on the way down since we were going to be late!

Long story short, we walked in (after parking blocks away for unknown reasons) and there was a private room in the back with 20 of my closest friends! This night couldn't get any better! Eric had it all planned complete with all you can eat food and drinks for the evening! I was so excited to see everyone and SO suprised! It took a lot of lies and deception, but it was so worth it. It was a fantastic night, I enjoyed every single second :)

Mom and Dad stayed the whole weekend and got to spend some time with the boys. Unfortunately both boys were just getting sick, but it was really nice to have an extra couple set of hands! We had a wonderful time, and I am so happy everyone was able to come and visit!

Finger Foods

We started finger foods a couple weeks back, and it's so fun to experiment and find out what the boys like to eat. So far, they are big fans of the Gerber crunchies, yogurt melts, toast, cheerios, puffs and pretty much anything else I put on the trays. On this particular day, Nana was over, and decided to put some cream cheese on the toast. As you can see, they were big fans! I'm loving when they feed themselves, and looking forward to when I can just throw some food on the high chair and go eat my own meal!

Jordan liked it the most!

Landon was pretty happy too

Sitting Up

The boys are now sitting up on their own regularly now. We don't even have to put anything behind them most of the time now which is so nice. They also are into taking things away from each other. I love watching them interact. So far, they don't get upset when their toys are taken, but I know that won't last forever. They have both learned how to give kisses, and occasionally will lean in for a kiss to each other. I need to catch it on video because it is so precious (and I'll need it for the teenage years!)

Landon continues to be my wild child, and Jordan couldn't be sweeter. I love them both more than anything and feel blessed everyday to be their mommy. Eric is loving each day more as they are able to interact and give him high fives :) They are growing so fast, and now I understand when people say time needs to slow down. I'm doing my best to enjoy each stage!

Tummy Time

My little guys are doing so well these days. I don't ever want to forget even the small things that happen each day. We try to do tummy time still since they aren't crawling, and sometimes they yell, but I can tell with each day they are getting stronger. Most of the time they just roll over, but sometimes they will play for a while on their tummy's.

We have also started Independent Play time each day. Until we got sick this week, it was going great. I actually think they kinda enjoy having some alone time and playing by themselves. Surprisingly, Landon has done the best with it. I thought for sure that he would scream the whole time, but so far he has just played happily.

Uncky Drew Uncky Drew

My brother has been able to visit more than ever this past year since he is now over the business in PA for his company. He always makes time to come see us when he is in town, and we are so thankful we get to see him so much! They are usually short trips, but he gets to spend quality time with the boys and lets us buy him dinner each time :) We had fun one afternoon he stopped by, then ended the night at PF Changs.. yum!

The boys are getting to know 'Uncky Drew' pretty well! He is getting ready to welcome a new baby girl, and we're so excited to have our first niece on the Purcell side of the family!

He can handle both -no prob

Jordan is always checking out whoever is holding him
