Weekend with the boys :)

We had a great weekend, just the boys and me.  Eric left Thursday morning and returns Sunday afternoon, and that left the boys and me some quality time together :)  They were both little angels and went down better for naps and even slept through almost all of them (this is something we've been working on!).  Because they were so good, I was able to accomplish some things around the house, which was so nice!

We have wanted to have a ceiling fan in our bedroom for a couple weeks now, and even had bought one at Costco, installed it, and found out that it didn't work :(  Well, we returned it and got another one at Lowes about a week ago, and it's just been sitting in the corner.  I got determined on Friday and decided I was going to install it myself!  After all the frustration with the other fan, I didn't have too much confidence.  I followed the instructions and googled lots about electrical wiring, and on my first try, it was working like a charm!  I think Eric will be so proud of me when he sees what I did!

I also took Jordan to his eye appointment on Friday.  The pediatrician referred us because I mentioned he hadn't been focusing as much as Landon.  Well, of course after I got the appointment, he started focusing more and interacting, but I kept the appointment anyway.  So, it was not a surprise to learn that Jordan is perfectly normal and there are no issues with his eyes :)  It was a fun adventure to just have Jordan (Grandma Peggy watched Landon for me).  It was the first time the boys were separate, and I think Jordan enjoyed the extra cuddle time in the waiting room (although I was reading Us Weekly for the first time in 3 months, so I was only giving him about 75% of my attention).  Landon did great with Grandma, as usual... I think I might have to retract his nickname fussypants if he keeps it up!

We also got to enjoy watching Uncle Adam play in his church softball league.  It was the championship game, and even though Hilltown lost, we were so proud of our Uncle and loved seeing him after the game!

He can do both.. no problem :)

(Thanks to the Dittberners for the super cute outfits!!)

Landon has been cooing lately, and it's my favorite thing he's done so far!  During his 'old' fussy times, he's replaced it now with smiling and cooing.  I didn't think I could love them more than I did a week ago, but seriously it just keeps getting better!  I'm so excited for Eric to come home and see his amazing boys!  Along with cleaning most of the house, I also gave the boys a bath tonight (not an easy task for 1 person.. but it's getting easier with each try :)  Here you can see, Landon was happy and cooing, and Jordan wasn't too excited after his bath :)

Sweet Boys.. nice and clean

Fussypants?  I don't think so!

Who's got the keys...

Eric has been excited for the boys to ride in the jeep. I have informed him that they will be VERY old before they are allowed to ride in such a dangerous vehicle. Well, this past week, he wanted to put them in there (in the garage) just to see if they liked it. I think Landon was a bigger fan than Jordan, but they both seemed pretty happy!

The boys are doing great lately.  We are still working on getting the schedule down, but they are both starting to have more play time and show signs of interaction!  They are sleeping pretty well at night, and I've only been up 1 time/night for the past week or so.  I'm hoping they start stretching it out a little more, but they are doing great for only 11 weeks old!
Eric just left for a weekend camping trip with the guys.  They are camping, hiking, fishing, swimming and who knows what else in upstate NY.  We have a fun weekend planned too, with lots of grandma/grandpa time, we'll probably have some friends over and who knows what else!  We were sad to see Daddy leave this morning, but glad he's getting in some time with the guys!

Babysitters

Grandma and Grandpa Schmidt have been such a blessing to us lately. They are ready willing and able to babysit at anytime for us, and they take great care of the boys! There are times when we are planning on just staying in for the night, but after the 3rd call with an offer to babysit, we force ourselves to run some errands or go to dinner :)

Grandma and Grandpa love to spoil the boys already even though I know they say you can't spoil an infant! Grandma loves singing to boys and playing with them which is probably why they don't really take naps when they go for a visit! This Friday, we dropped the boys off, and Grandma did the impossible, and got both boys smiling in a picture!

Thanks for taking care of us Grandma and Grandpa! (Jordan is in the blue and Landon is in the red)

Personalities

I have really enjoyed the past couple weeks really getting to know my boys.  It's amazing how much personality they have at such a young age.  As a first time mom, it's so interesting to me that I have no idea what next week will hold, but I'm so excited to see!  These boys have really captured our hearts.  Eric gets home around 8:00 AM each morning.  Depending on what time the boys get up and eat, sometimes they are back down for the early morning nap when he gets home.  You can see the disappointment on his face that he won't be able to play with them before he goes to bed.  He sometimes even goes in to just peek at them, and I'm so excited to watch his love continue to grow.  At 10 weeks old, we are starting to see some real personality, and I wanted to take a moment to share some of what we are learning about our little angels.

Landon has been a mover and shaker ever since he arrived on the scene.  From the first couple days in the hospital when he would 'dance' by moving his arms all around, to this past week when he really started to interact, I'm amazed at each step.  I can tell that he will have a strong personality as he's very clear with me when he is hungry or just wants some attention.  I can also see the love he has for his brother when I put him down for a nap first, and then cries until the moment I put Jordan down next to him, he looks over at him and gives me a huge smile.  Landon has also started to mimic faces we make at him.  He will smile when we smile and even stick his tounge out if we do it first.  He is developing quickly, and it's fun to see each milestone being accomplished.

Jordan, on the other hand, really doesn't get shaken up too much.  He reminds me of his Daddy as he is very easy going and will pretty much go with the flow.  I'm pretty sure this little guy would be sleeping through the night if his brother didn't wake up so much!  He is also the one that I typically hand over to people when they come to visit because I know he will just look sweetly at them and probably not cry.  Jordan also loves to cuddle.  When you pick him up, he typically grabs onto any part of your shirt that he can and lays his head right on your shoulder.  Jordan also really loves his brother and regularly reaches out to him and often finds his hand to hold.  Who knew that such young babies could be so attached and even show affection?

I love my precious little boys, and I'm sure God has BIG plans for each of them!

Busy Weekend...

We had a pretty busy weekend, mostly because of the work Eric did around the house, but in the middle of it all, we had our good friends, the Mangins, over for dinner Saturday night.  This was the first time we had all 6 over since the boys were born.  On the way in, Kira (the youngest lady) asked her mom "do I get to go inside this time?".  If you remember from an earlier post, she was outside, and we were showing her the boys through the window :)  Now that kids are allowed around the boys, we were able to have them inside!!

We had a great evening with good food and good company.  The boys were pretty good, but it did push me over the edge to get ANOTHER swing since the sharing of one swing just didn't cut it during dinner!  The boys dressed up in the outfits that the Mangins got them when we found out we were having boys.  I was so excited that they finally grew into the 0-3 month outfits (they were still a little big, but that just means they can wear them longer!)  Thanks for coming over guys!!
Eric can hold 2 now (and not so awkwardly as before!)

From green to blue...

We have been wanting to paint our shutters ever since we bought our house.  It was one of the things that I didn't love about the house, but it wasn't worth not buying it at the time.  We finally got around to putting in the request for the change with the association, and on Friday afternoon they called to say our change was approved.  Before I knew it, Eric jumped out of bed early Saturday morning to go get the paint and get started.  His brother, Adam was quick to help as well and spent his Saturday morning up on the ladder helping paint the shutters.  Lyndsay also came over, and she helped me give the boys a bath - no small task :)

Eric worked outside all weekend (and it was VERY hot), and got it finished Sunday afternoon.  I'm so proud of what a hard worker he is!  He even had to go to work Sunday night without a nap or anything - I don't know how he does it!

Before - not the best picture

After - I love the blue!

Visit with Mr. Charlie

Last night the boys were so excited to go meet their new friend, who was just born last week!  Charlie lives pretty close, and I'm sure these three boys will be getting into plenty of trouble as the years go by.  Luckily, Charlie has a big sister, Campbell, who I am sure will let us know whenever they are doing things they shouldn't :)  Congrats to Jess and Kevin, as they have a very cute little man who we were so excited to meet!

Again, we had a photo shoot, and Landon was not having it.  At least Jordan got some attention at this playdate!  I think Charlie was trying to eat him!  I'm so excited to see my boys making someone else look little.  Yeah, they have 2 months on him, but still.. they are getting so big!

Happy 2 months, precious boys

The boys turned 2 months old this past week, and we were so excited to find out all the info at our well check-up!  The boys did great considering they received multiple shots.  Jordan weighed 9 lbs 10 oz and is now 21 inches long, and Landon weighed 9 lbs 12 oz and is also 21 inches long.  The doctor was very happy with the progess, and I'm happy to say they are now on the charts!!  They come in at 3% for height and 10% for weight (of course this is comparing them to all 2 month olds).  I'm excited to watch them catch up with their peers as the months go by!

Of course, I had to take some pictures on the chair.  I ended up doing 2 photo shoots.  As you will see, the first one Landon was true to his nickname (Fussypants).  He was not wanting to take pictures, but I caught him later on (after all the shots), and he was actuallly smiling at me!  Hope you enjoy the pics!!

Landon... not ready for his photo shoot

Jordan -  as sweet as can be!

Visit from Grandma Bunny

Great Grandma Bunny made the trip out from York, PA for the first time this past week. She is the only great grandma that the boys will have, and we were so blessed to have her out for a visit. We went down to Grandma Peggy's to see her, then she came up for a visit on Tuesday afternoon. We look forward to many holidays with her, and I could tell the boys really loved her and already miss her!

I love Grandma Bunny's face in this first picture. She could watch her daughter, Grandma Peggy hold the boys all day.

Grandma Peggy and Great Grandma Bunny playing with Landon(and of course Aspen)

Grandma Bunny took a turn holding both boys, and did a fantastic job!

She couldn't be more proud

Typical.. Landon stole all the attention!

A Visit from The "Other" Adam and Lindsay

Our good friends from Minnesota, Adam and Lindsay, came to visit us this past weekend.  We had a wonderful, relaxing weekend, and it was so fun to catch up with good friends.  After we picked them up from the airport, we headed straight to Geno's for a 'real' Philly Cheesesteak experience.  We did have to leave the boys for more than 3 hours, but luckily Grandma and Grandpa Schmidt along with the 'real' Uncle Adam and Aunt Lyndsay watched the boys even through a feeding :)  (Thanks guys!)

Adam and Lindsay were so great with the boys!  They are expecting a baby in September, so it was fun to talk about what our next visit will be like!  We had an awesome time... thanks guys for making the trip out East!

Enjoying their first Philly Cheesteak experience

Lindsay was a huge help all weekend.. so great with the babies!

Adam even took a few turns!  This is Adam holding sweet Jordan

Adam is a huge sports fan, which means him and Eric get along perfectly!  So, Eric got some Phillies tickets to the Saturday night game, which I was informed was one of the greatest games ever see in person for the boys!  I do have to mention that the Phillies beat the Reds in all 4 of the games this series and most in extra innings (sorry Dad, Joel and Doodle Bug)!  While the boys enjoyed the baseball game, the girls and babies headed to visit my good friend, Jess who just had an adorable little guy, Charlie!

We had to do some pics with the boys and baby Ditty

Pretty cute in the Phillies outfits
